Professor Dr.-Ing. Dieter Klaus Adler

Steinbeis was saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Dr.-Ing. Dieter Klaus Adler, who died on 11th November at the age of 85. In his early Steinbeis years, Dieter Klaus Adler was head of the Technical Consulting Service at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. He remained active as an Entrepreneur at the Steinbeis Transfer Center EAT – Engineering Automation Training right up to his death.

In the early days of the Steinbeis Foundation back in the 1970s, 16 Technical Consulting Services (TCS) provided a point of contact at universities of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. Through his role at the TCS in Karlsruhe, Dieter Klaus Adler used his professional expertise to support SMEs in Baden-Württemberg over the course of many years. The TCS would subsequently become the Steinbeis Transfer Center EAT – Engineering Automation Training, established by Adler and Ingo Tillhon in 2012. For over 30 years, Dieter Klaus Adler used his expertise in consulting, automation solutions, analysis and technical reports, and training and professional development to support established companies with the restructuring and realignment of their business and to help young entrepreneurs bring new business ideas to fruition.

In addition to his professorship at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (known in German as Fachhochschule Karlsruhe at the time, but now the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Karlsruhe), Adler also served as an honorary member of the board of the Friends of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Within the Steinbeis Network, he was valued as a reliable colleague with a wealth of professional experience, who was never afraid to speak his mind. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to his wife and relatives.
