Steinbeis SUTM is one of the partners in a global robotics network in Beijing E-Town
SUTM Beijing Co. Ltd. (SUTM) and Beijing E-Town Robot Technology Industry Development Co., Ltd. have founded the Global Robotics Expansion Network and signed a strategic partnership agreement together with Dutch robotics and AI company Robotitan. In doing so, they have taken an important step to promote cooperation between China and Europe in the field of robotics and support the industry’s global expansion.
The network was officially founded at the World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing at a joint SUTM and Beijing E-Town Robot Technology Industry Development event on “International Robotics Industry Cooperation and Robot Enterprises Going Global” attended by nearly 100 representatives of research, industry and international organizations. German representative Professor Dr.-Ing. Alexander Verl (University of Stuttgart) presented the latest breakthroughs in digital twin technologies for industrial robotics. Following on from this, SUTM CEO Ma Juan facilitated a discussion among experts and industry leaders about the opportunities and challenges of robotics globalization.
The strategic partnership agreement between SUTM, Beijing E-Town Robot Technology Industry Development and Robotitan is a milestone that strengthens Beijing E-Town’s position as a national robotics hub in China and creates a structured mechanism to help Chinese enterprises go global.
Beijing E-Town: a robotics innovation hub
The permanent host of the World Robot Conference, Beijing E-Town has become one of China’s most dynamic robotics clusters. It is home to an industrial ecosystem encompassing core components, humanoid, industrial and service robots, medical robotics, and logistics automation.
Beijing E-Town has pioneered major application projects such as the world’s first robot half marathon and testbeds for embodied intelligence, underlining its ambition to integrate robotics into real-world industrial and social settings and position itself as a global robotics innovation hub. The partnership with SUTM and Robotitan bolsters Beijing E-Town’s strategy of combining local industrial strengths with international expertise and markets.
SUTM: the international partner for innovative robotics
SUTM wants to build on the event’s outcomes to further increase its involvement in the robotics sector. Its strategic initiatives include the establishment of a Sino-European robotics innovation hub for promoting bilateral research and development cooperation and industrial partnerships. SUTM also supports “Robot Experience Centers” in other countries, that are intended as hubs for service, demonstration, training and access to the global market. To ensure that innovations are compatible with responsible, sustainable development, SUTM fosters an ongoing dialog about the ethical and social dimensions of embodied intelligence.
The combination of Beijing E-Town’s strong industrial base and Steinbeis’ international network underscores both partners’ long-term commitment to promoting technology transfer, enabling global cooperation and contributing to the sustainable globalization of the robotics industry.
